GWC lights up the Nasdaq Screens on New York’s Times Square during the Fifth Securing Sports Conference – New York 2015

Gulf Warehousing Company (Q.S.C.), the leading logistics provider in the State of Qatar, has distinguished itself during its participation in the in the Fifth Securing Sports Conference – New York 2015, and in particular by through its support of the “Save the Dream” program which unfolded the first day of the conference, on November 3rd, 2015, at the famed Times Square.

GWC’s participation in this campaign is the latest example of its commitment to public service and upholding proper sportsmanship values through social responsibility programs. Several sports celebrities were present at the Save the Dream campaign, including Real Madrid stars Fernando Sanz and Fernando Hierro; Italian footballer Alessandro Del Piero; Spanish footballer David Villa; French footballer Christian Karembeu; Olympics Swimmer Benny Hines; and Paralympic Champion Giusy Versace, among many other world-renowned athletes.

Gulf Warehousing Company distinguishes itself in the fully-integrated logistics services it provides, most particularly in the solutions it provides for major sports events. GWC Sports has provided venue management as well as shipping and clearance services for a variety of international sports tournaments, among them the AIBA Boxing Championships, The 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships, and the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship. The company also has a long history of supporting social responsibility initiatives, among them the activities it has performed in cooperation with the Youth Company and the Hamad Medical Corporation.

“The company continues to support social responsibility programs, particularly sports related activities, as a national company that understands its part in enriching various social activities,” stated GWC Chairman Sheikh Abdulla bin Fahad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani. “GWC’s participation in the “Save the Dream” activities at the Fifth Securing Sport Conference falls under the company’s commitment to support good values and strong sportsmanship in the international sporting community.

The Save the Dream program was launched in 2012, a joint initiative by the Qatar Olympic Committee, the International Center for Securing Sport, and the Alessandro Del Piero Foundation. Many sports celebrities worldwide have become ambassadors for the program, which is considered a symbol for a larger international campaign to spread awareness among young athletes, educate them, and protect the high values and the traditions involved in sport, with the aim of assuring a sports culture free of corruption, violence, and discrimination.
