First FIFA World Cup in the Arab world.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 drew 3.4 million spectators, sustaining a 96.3% average attendance capacity. Al Bidda Park in Doha hosted 1.8 million fans, reveling in live broadcasts and entertainment at the FIFA Fan Festival™. Over one million visitors journeyed to Qatar, with top nations being Saudi Arabia, India, the USA, the UK, and Mexico.

In a historic first, teams from five continents reached the knockout stage, and Morocco achieved a groundbreaking semi-final spot as the inaugural African or Arab nation. The group stage, the tournament's busiest period, witnessed the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram networks recording 9.19 million trips, averaging 707,032 passengers daily.
