As the Official Logistics Provider for the 22nd FIFA World Cup™, GWC successfully managed the delivery of diverse items, including equipment, furniture, office supplies, and more, to all eight stadiums and 32 team base camps. They also coordinated the safe movement of equipment for broadcasters and media, handling reverse logistics. Essential items like the FIFA World Cup™ Winner’s Trophy, kits, footballs, and volunteer uniforms were delivered. This achievement during Qatar 2022™, enjoyed by billions globally, resulted from meticulous years of planning and preparation.

GWC aided the host nation, focusing on the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. We delivered over 2 million items to various host country functions, covering tournament venues, transportation, fan zones, and accommodation. The logistics operation involved four entry ports, 400 key sites, nearly 100 vehicles, and collaboration with 15 government entities, spanning a distance of over 1,900,000km. State-of-the-art asset management systems were employed for planning and execution, with ongoing reverse logistics until summer 2023.
TETRA gadgets were used at important places during the FIFA World Cup™, like stadiums and other venues in Qatar. GWC handled the storage, distribution, and support for these devices, helping FIFA and the host country run things smoothly.

Commercial partners play a vital role in elevating the FIFA World Cup™ experience. In Qatar, diverse brands were prominently showcased at crucial locations like stadiums and the FIFA Fan Festival™️. GWC went the extra mile, providing each partner with unique deliveries like exhibition spaces and activation zones, contributing to an enriched fan journey and global brand exposure.

GWC played a key role in flawlessly delivering and distributing Coca-Cola products during Qatar 2022™. The company provided end-to-end logistics services, managing air and sea shipments, storage of 1.2T of raw sugar, and local logistics support at stadiums, hotels, and the FIFA Fan Festival™. Additionally, GWC ensured smooth bump-in and bump-out logistics, contributing significantly to the overall success of the event.

From August 2022 to January 2023, GWC efficiently delivered linen products for Accor’s accommodation sites during the FIFA World Cup™. With a fleet of 110 drivers covering 950,000km, servicing 700 properties and 60,000 rooms, GWC provided round-the-clock support without any reported incidents, delays, or damage to customer goods, during the six month period.


GWC facilitated the transport of Hyundai and Kia vehicles for FIFA officials and VIPs from various countries to Qatar. Collaborating seamlessly with local agencies and ministries, GWC ensured smooth customs clearance at both land and sea borders, handling a total of 958 movements, including 585 cars transported over land and 373 by sea.

Qatar 2022™ attracted 10,000 media experts, and GWC played a crucial role in ensuring seamless logistics. Managing everything from recording gear to freight, we provided a flawless experience. The final, Argentina vs. France at Lusail Stadium, reached 3.4 billion viewers. Excelling in onsite logistics during Qatar 2022™, GWC flawlessly handled 200,000 pieces of media equipment. Notably, the bump-out phase exceeded expectations in 56 hours. For the BBC, we orchestrated freight, customs clearance, and storage, handling over 75 tons of equipment with 24/7 support. ‘Bubble to bubble’ operations minimized risks, showcasing our commitment to media coordination excellence.

At the heart of every major sporting event are a team of dedicated volunteers. More than 20,000 enthusiastic people supported the delivery of Qatar 2022, including 3,000 volunteers from overseas. GWC delivered uniforms for the volunteers to Doha Exhibition Centre and provided operational support during the tournament.

GWC provided consistent services adhering to FIFA rules for all 32 participating teams. Each nation received a dedicated supervisor, drivers, and crew. GWC delivered kits, footballs, leisure and training equipment, medical supplies, and food to each team’s base camp. Additionally, GWC handled the transportation of kits between base camps and stadiums on match days.

More than 1.4 million fans visited Qatar during the FIFA World Cup™️. They were treated to the most compact edition of the tournament in modern history and the unique opportunity to attend more than one match a day during the early stages of the event. When it comes to the fan experience, GWC was there every step of the journey. Whether it was merchandise
at the stadium, food and beverages in the hospitality lounge or souvenirs in Souq Waqif, GWC played a pivotal role in getting every item in the right place at the right time.
