Chairman's message
Moving forward, we hope to explore new markets and expand our presence in more countries and achieve greater heights.
Even though 2021 gave us some respite from the consequences of Covid-19, the global supply chain industry has a tough road to recovery. At the same time, last year we also witnessed how this industry came together to provide life-saving drugs and Covid-19 vaccines across the globe. On our part, we are proud to say that GWC took an active role in delivering these vaccines in the State of Qatar.
As a pioneer in the field of logistics, GWC is determined to contribute to Qatar’s goal of diversifying its economy. The country’s strategic location coupled with its logistical prowess has been responsible for making Qatar a favoured destination for foreign investors. There is no denying that the country is becoming a global trade and logistics hub and one of the fastest-growing markets globally for logistics, with its FIFA World Cup preparedness raising the country’s profile even higher among foreign and regional investors.
With a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, the logistics sector is determined to expand and grow making Qatar a global trading hub, a journey that GWC is committed to be a part of. As part of this commitment, we are focused on supporting MSMEs in Qatar through our various initiatives and projects.
We firmly believe that SMEs are pivotal for facilitating innovation and economic growth. They are also more agile and responsive to change, which is essential – in a post Covid-19 period. Through our strategically located GWC Al Wukair Logistics Park we offer a one-stop-shop for SMEs and Start-ups to benefit from years of local, regional and international experience, along with a global, integrated network.
Further to this, GWC, as the leading logistics provider and the Regional Supporter and Official Logistics Provider for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ is gearing up to provide unparalleled service to this sporting mega-event which will be held for the first time in this region. Through our logistics hub in Ras Bufontas Free Zone, we offer unmatched logistical and last mile delivery options to the aviation, pharmaceutical and events industries including FIFA World Cup.
Moving forward, we hope to explore new markets and expand our presence in more countries and achieve greater heights.
Whatever we have achieved so far would not have been possible without the wise guidance of His Highness the Emir, His Excellency the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Commerce and Industry, who have given us their continued leadership and support. I also thank the Board of Directors, management, and staff of GWC, and our faithful shareholders and clients, for their exceptional contribution and trust in GWC.
Thank you.
